There’s something about a wedding that feels completely like the people getting married that just hits different. This summer wedding at the Old Davie School House Museum in Davie, Florida was exactly that. Relaxed, personal, full of laughter, and packed with the little unscripted moments that end up becoming some of the best photographs of the day.
The Old Davie School House Museum has so much character on its own. The historic South Florida setting gave the wedding a ton of personality without needing to feel overly formal or overdone. It was the perfect backdrop for a couple who wanted their day to feel less like a production and more like an actual celebration with the people they love.
And that’s exactly how we photographed it.
Rather than spending the day constantly stopping everything for photos, we focused on documenting what was already happening. The laughs between friends, the reactions during the ceremony, the hugs that lasted a little longer than expected, and all those random in-between moments nobody could have planned if they tried.
